God loves and has a purpose for you.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NLT)
“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 (NKJV)
Sin separated us from God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 (NIV)
Sometimes people try to bridge the gap to God by their good works. However, there is only one bridge to God. It is the cross and price that Jesus paid on it. The Bible is clear that Jesus is the only way to God.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’“ John 14:6 (NIV)
Your only requirement is to respond by trusting that Jesus died for our sins, believing He is the son of God and confessing it with your mouth.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12 NIV
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 (NIV)
If you want to have the peace of knowing you have reconciled your heart with God and to receive Jesus as your savior, follow these steps:
1. Admit your need and say “God, I admit I’m a sinner”.
2. Be willing to turn from your sins (repent).
3. Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose from the grave.
4. Pray a prayer like this:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I want to turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I commit my life to follow Your ways, not my ways. Please help me do that. I want to trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name, Amen.
If you wholeheartedly prayed that prayer, you are now a follower of Jesus Christ. Commit your life to following Him and His ways. He has given you a new heart and the Bible says your name is now written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
Find a church, if you do not have one, to start relationships with other Christ followers to support you on this new journey.
